I don’t know about you, but I am sick and tired of the press running the election. I am sick and tired of Wolf Blitzer telling me what I think. I am sick and tired of MSNBC telling me that among 6 foot tall white males with one peg leg 32% of them are worried about healthcare. In short I am sick of the media telling us what we are worried about, what we care about, and giving us so many stupid statistics that after awhile the numbers are meaningless.

So… if you go out to vote on Super Tuesday volunteer to take any exit poll you are given. Then… lie your ass off. Lie on every question on there. Make up crap. Lie about your income, your age, your cares and concerns. Since the media will take any bone you throw them let’s throw me a big bone.

TAKE AN EXIT POLL AND LIE YOUR ASS OFF !

The human brain can only handle so much information in a short period of time.

As I approach 40 I am learning this limit very well. So whenever I see an article, blog posting, email, etc. that says ‘98 tips to a more productive life’ I instantly delete it. I can tell before even pulling up the list that this is a list of items that is impracticle for me to absorb in a single sitting. Or in a single week. Or in a single month.

If you ever sit down and listen to a great music jam session (primarily R&B) you will find out that the silence in the music is just as important (if not more) as the actual notes that are being played. You cannot always have noise. Just a good guitar riff or kick drum every now and then in the hook can make for a great tune.

So if I subscribe to several productivity RSS feeds, and at least once a week I see a post about ‘ The top 38423 ways to promote your blog’ or ‘98432 ways you can have everything you want right now’ I will be forever trying to keep up with all of the items. The end result is that I will be LESS productive than I was when I started. No thank you sir!

My advice to you: Don’t read these posts, or if you do just glaze over the first 10 to see if you see anything new. Otherwise delete it because it will just fry your brain trying to implement. Odds are anyways you’ve already read them in the past month.

Oh my freakin’ goodness. I think I may have just figured out the purpose of the universe through a clever little internet video. All I have to do is pay $5 to download the video. Or $30 to buy the DVD. Or $20 to buy a book from one of the secret teachers – all of whom appear in the video.

People. Please. Don’t see this for more than it is. Marketing plain and simple. Self-Improvement 101: Think and Act the way you want your life to be and it will become reality. This is nothing new. I personally have no problem with them trying to make a quick buck but this is age old information wrapped in a viral video. Everybody on the video has something for sale on their website.

If you want to learn same concepts in a good old paper back book that has been around for a several decades go pick up a copy of As a Man Thinketh from James Allen. It is not hype. It is just the fundamentals of getting around in life.

 Think right. Do right. And you will get what you want. Period. Even without the viral video hype.
