This week, during his livestream, he answers questions from his viewer, Chloe, who's struggling to build money right now due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I honestly don't really know what to do. It feels terrible trying to sell websites when people are struggling so much. I was thinking of low price/scalable offers like courses or patreon. I'm super interested in any advice you have."
"Let's go through this one by one. Some people are struggling to put food on the table, keep the lights on, and keep the water flowing. You don't know what to do when it comes to selling to them or not. I would like to remind you that you have a responsibility not only to yourself but responsibility for your talents to help other people escalate. Your market is not the person who's teetering on edge and gripping every dollar. That person needs to save their money and needs to come nowhere near a web designer. Your target market is someone who maybe has some disposable money or a nine to five job. And they've always thought about starting a side hustle or dip their toe in it. And this is the time to push them over the edge to help them become more independent. You have to remember who your target market is and talk to them specifically. It's definitely a mindset thing. As a business owner, you must have a different mindset since you bring a lot of value to the market. Believe that the amount you're charging is making someone's life better. Start qualifying people out who are ready to act."
We have a responsibility to get our value out to the world to help everyone recover. As entrepreneurs, we need to take that responsibility seriously.
