Are you a big Twitter fan? Do you love telling people what you are doing as you walk around your house or drive around your city? Are you one of those GeoTwitter fans that has to tell people the EXACT address you are at ?

Wow. OK. Life needed on aisle 10.

I’ve been playing with Twitter recently and I have come to the professional assessment that it is a complete waste of time. There are two major reasons for this:

1. Nobody needs to know where I am and what I am doing at every moment of the day. I like my privacy and unless you are directly involved in an event in my life why would I want tell you about it? Someone taking the time to post Twitter updates every hour about what is going on is proof that they don’t have much going on. I think the word we are looking for here is: Irony

2. I have way too much going on in my life to be interested in keeping up with 20 other peoples lives and what they are doing. If I was a hard-working person working on my dreams why would I want to stop, take the time to tell you that I have a callus on my foot, tell you when I am going to the doctor to have it removed, and then relate to you the post-surgery details?

I have been hopping in to Twitter every now and then and it is amazing to me how much people feel the need to share every detail of every waking moment. It is unhealthy and frankly sometimes damn scary. When did personal pride and the desire for privacy get thrown the door? Do you really think that we need to know that you want BBQ?

Will I get rid of my Twitter account ? No. But I’ll use to my advantage for marketing and telling people about blog updates. It will be good for me telling people that care about updates to projects that I am working on. But you will not see me in there every day telling you that I am out shopping for shoes or that I am out clubbing. Seriously.
